Sadly Fleet Town have lost their appeal with the men in blazers at the FA. Banished to Southern League 1 Western. Men only interested in a new blazer each season and as many freebies they can get out of it. Not a thought for the grass roots clubs. Maybe they will take a drop and possibly end up in CCL1.

And now they have no management team and few players.
What a heartless load of b******s at the FA. No common sense applied whatsoever and all caused by a club way up the country losing their sponsorship or whatever and withdrawing and upsetting the FA pyramid. B****r the pyramid give them some square bricks to play with.
I really wonder what FA stands for! Surely the FA motto should be Blazers and Freebies that's the job for me.
What also disappoints me and I apologise in advance if I'm wrong because I didn't spot it but amongst the mountains of sympathy and support from other clubs and individuals on their Twitter I didn't spot one from Godalming Town.

Weird one that. I was up north last week and read a tweet from GTFC to Fleet wishing them well with their appeal but after a quick look just now I can't find it on our timeline. Possibly it was a reply and shows up on theirs. In all honesty the first I heard about their problems was when you posted it on here. I'm not sure how many people at the club were aware of what was happening. Is there a decent newsfeed for regional non-league football that's worth subscribing too? Surrey Ad is next to useless, CC sends me stuff but not hugely informative.

Just checked their timeline can't find anything there either but I can now see that it was July 1st as I remember it was accompanied by the screen grab of the newspaper article. Not going mad, but no idea what has happened to our tweet.

It's still there from July 1 responding to the newspaper headline.
@godalmingtown
Replying to @fcfleettown @fa Good luck to all at the hearing. The FA should see sense. Hopefully we wont see you next season in combined counties.

That's good news then that there was something. I missed it but I did apologise in advance if I had missed something.
They have just announced a ground share at Calthorpe Park with Bagshot.
Edit: Up north last week Atombowl. You weren't setting something up with Shaw Lane were you?

I've just looked through their twitter twice and still can't see anything.
Perhaps it's a good job I'm not a referee although even that would have to be for walking football now!

11 minutes ago We are currently looking to appoint a manager to manage us in the Southern league 0 replies . 1 retweet 0 likes Reply Retweet 1 Like Fleet Town @fcfleettown
29m29 minutes ago More We cannot afford to play in the Southern league but have been given no choice as we could be heavily fined by the league for resigning. We will keep going with a side mainly made up of youth players to save costs but we would welcome any help from local business and the community

It's such a shame what has happened at fleet and yes the fa have shavted them big time. But at the end of the day when it happened to godalming a few yrs ago no one gave a sh*t about godalming. Surely the focus is on the forum is a new godalming town and the new management.

As we Godalming supporters are patiently circling in a holding pattern, waiting for the first warm-up and trial games and consequent formation of yet another squad, then it is timely to remind ourselves, whilst gracing Step 4, of our expeditions to the edge of the map where 'there be beasties'. Dover, Ramsgate, Exeter, Merthyr, Northampton, Cirencester, Rugby, Margate, Reading, Folkestone, Newport, Taunton, Barton, Royston etc etc.. ..I didn't get to Guernsey. Proper local football. ...not. Our chums at Fleet, unfairly, have had the chalice of common sense dashed from their lips. We never even saw a chalice.

Football's coming home! ...unless of course you play in the Southern League in which case half of it is miles away.

I apologise in advance if I missed this but I got married on 6th October 1984 and I can’t find the tweet of congratulations from the club. Come to think of it Ann Jones won Wimbledon in 1969 and I can’t see anything about that. What’s going on!

You're a sarcastic s*d. It's blokes like you, in fact only you that at least 3 or 4 don't bother to attend.

I thought it was Andy Hunt, Kevin Young, Queen Beatrice of Denmark, the older one in The Flower Pot men, Mr Ed, etc etc etc that stopped at least 4 others attending

A little courtesy goes a long way. That's why I apologised in advance. I can't post anything sensible on here without you putting up some crap response. I can assure you you won't beat me. I've had considerably more years supporting and following Gees than yourself. If I buy my season ticket that's all that matters. The club will have my money but it's my choice whether I choose or am able to attend after that. I can assure you if I lived on the doorstep like yourself I be spending a lot of time at the ground (I would love to have a ride around on Bill's mower) but I wouldn't be prancing around in a stupid pair of shorts.
You just keep doing your snivelling around.
If you have been watching our Twitter feed you will be aware of the damaging and precarious position FTFC has been out in by the FAs allocation and the subsequent dismissal of our appeal. Building on the fantastic level of support it has been suggested we use this platform to help raise funds to survive.
We were provisionally allocated to the isthmian league which is centred around Middlesex. We recruited a man. team, players and sponsors within the M25. The FA told us 18 hours before finalising the league structure that we had been moved to the southern league which plays most of its games centred around Bristol with some even in Devon. This will triple our travel costs not to mention travel time. Our management team and all of the players have resigned and some of our Sponsors withdrew including our major ground sponsor. We are told if we resign from the league we will face a 2 division drop and a fine of between £9.5k and £76k. Being a ‘not for profit’ club run by a handful of unpaid volunteers we can’t afford to do that either.
we estimate our travel costs for the season will be £15k as opposed to last years £5k. We will probably get less income as teams coming to us will not bring as many supporters.
please help save a club formed in 1890 and are now facing oblivion due to the FAs decision.
If everyone who interacted with our social media donates just 50p we would raise enough to survive. Of course businesses would be welcome to talk about mutual benefits as we have >3000 followers and will accommodate most requests. Ground sponsor, match sponsors, players sponsors and banners are still available. We will always tag our sponsors.
EVERY LITTLE BIT HELPS!
