To be fair and for a little balance, Cranewife doesn't live on the doorstep, sells programmes and golden-goal tickets at the home games, attends all away games, has been helping Nev with pitch watering with only one hose and bellows 'c'mon G's' at least six times a game.

He lives within walking distance of the ground. But I get pissed off Giles every comment is answered by him with a derogatory or sarcastic remark.
If I lived that close I'd be helping. I did 23 years helping and travelling to Bognor Regis Town (Pete Phillips will confirm this) before I stated coming to Gees.

Quite a longish walk to be fair, certainly not on the doorstep. I think people tend to get a bit defensive about what can often appear to be unfair criticism particularly when your sentence starts with, 'what also disappoints me'. It suggests that you are quite eager to find negative things to say about the club (or more particularly the people that run the club) an caveating that with an apology tends to sound like an insurance policy that simply allows you to attack people whenever you feel like it. Not having a pop but there are ways of finding out whether GTFC has contacted Fleet that don't start with an accusatory and, as it turned out, incorrect statement. For those on the receiving end of some of your comments in recent years it can feel as barbed and abrasive as you believe Cranewife to be.

To be fair Dave Cranewife does a hell of a lot for the club and it's people like him that are the life and soul of a club,re Fleet travelling expenses can't they appeal like us and Guildford City did,they gave us most of the costs,else we would of been in the crap! I'm sure they will look on it sympathetically they are really compassionate when it comes to small clubs in trouble through their balls ups.They should put their staff on a geography course!!
