something has got to change at the club and from where i'm looking it has to be the manager. He has totally lost the confidence of the players. Godalming Town used to fight for every ball and put 100% into everything they did, but not now. They looked totally dejected even before the game today. The question what everyone has to ask is wether Roger can restore his sides confidence and playing ability in time for the new season in what probably will be in the CCL.

no it wasnt the manager was the players thinking they were some big time players, iv heard some of them were in the stand and two players didnt even turn up. rogers been let down, some of the players you cant fault their efforts such as mazza, lydo and beardo boults but some have let them down.

thats a fair point, but if players are letting Roger down then why does he play them or even keep them at the club? Surely its up to the manager to instill a sense of wanting to represent Godalming Town and to attend and work hard at training. You have to question why some players aren't commited. If a player is not 100% committed to Godalming Town then he does not deserve to play for us. I can understand why some players feel dejected and disappointed with the club, but there was no commitment and no fight today. I feel that it's the managers responsibility to motivate his team when the odds are against them. The supporters who have worked hard for the club deserve more than what they got today. It has ultimately been a disappointing season even though we knew relegation would be fairly likely. I think Roger has had his go and if there is someone else who can show commitment and ambition then we should appoint them.

who would you appoint? name any managers who would want to join a little club just been relegated. well look at the end to our season any player in that position cant be motivated after losing so many games, Roger just needs to re-build the squad, this season we were not expecting to do well, we are a small club with a small fan base, this season we were at the highest ever and now we have good youth players just need to re-build get the squad together and not make any dramatic changes. 1 season at that level EVER, but some players were a couple of pre-madonas. we have built up the reputation of godalming town, we shouldnt lose a good manager over 1 season at the top!

i agree with you. But something has to be changed. i'm sure those who know the club and Roger best will make the right decision. It may be that Roger wants to go. All we need is a few good players with a bit of experience that can come in and benefit the team. Roger has made some good signings in Chrissy Bolter and Liam Grier. Thing is though Roger should have rebulit the squad last summer so that we didn't relegated. We had CCL players playing ryman league football. Youth team is promising though. Hope to see you, Will, in the first team next season!

thats rogers commitment and faith in players, they played there way up and should get the chance to have a go in something they helped make happen i.e getting into ryman league, if i played my arse off all season and won promotion then got told i was off out of the club id go mentle. worst thing ever. roger has faith in people which is good, yer chrissy boulter is quality and hope he stays!

As a club you should get 100% behind Roger, he is a good manager and a great bloke. Think what he has done for your club, the Ryman league is very difficult for any new club coming into it without a very large budget, yours was probably amongst the smallest but not the smallest.
Roger got the best players available within your price range, do not blame them if they cannot compete with the Dovers of the league paying out many thousands a week in wages.
You will end up probably in the Combined Counties but who knows anything could happen with restructuring, we certainly do not know where we will be, could be CC with you.

At the end of the day we were not good enough. In my opinion, its down to the players. Some are not good enough for the Ryman. Rogers work rate is superb, and I do not think it his 100% his fault. However, I do not think bringing Andy Brooks on as a striker is a very good idea. If there is any point in keeping our useless reserve team surely its to help strengthen the 1st team. Filling the bench would be a start. Being a 'small-town club' has nothing to do with it. Look at Histon. Its about a playing squad who WANT to win, and whos heads do not go down after letting in a goal. That and a touch of footballing class would see a decent team appear. Yes, money is an issue, but at the end of the day if you have the mentality playing regular Ryman football is possible. It can even happen with a small squad. In the Conference South, Thurrock used 65 different players as they JUST stayed up. Champions Histon used 30! Steer lovers, you have to see both sides of the coin. At the end of the day, yes he got us up, but he didn't keep us there. Players or manager. Thats for you to squable about. At the end of the day we all want one thing, Godalming success. Up the G's!

When did I say I wanted him to go? Ok 5 players did not turn up you are saying. Why didn't they come? I want Roger to stay, and told him that last week. He said to me he was, so I am surprised he has 'left'. Also, no, I have never been manager. Have you?

im not saying i have been a manager but u seem to be very opinated and my opinion you dont really know how hard it is for roger , yes he got us up and yes we have gone down but where was the budget he needed to compete at that level i was at the dover game and in both games we were superb and incase u didnt know thats playing against a side with over double the budget roger has had ! every1 is behind roger and you seem to be the only person putting negative comments on here !

OK. You say I'm opinionated. Is that not allowed? Anyway, after having a go at me for having an opinion you go and explain your one. Yes we played well against Dover...Only got one point out of two games though. Its about results, not performances. Thats the icing on the cake. I WANT Roger to stay. 'I'm the only one saying negative things'!? A) I haven't B) Look at Gregs posts! Anyway think what you think. I have not got a clue after all have I.
