Hi to everyone at Godalming Town FC, and best wishes for the new season.
Thank you for hosting my club, Staines Town, in the pre-season 'double header' at Charterhouse last month - a veru useful workout I am told.
Unfortunately, both I and my colleague were on holiday, and so this game is the only one for which I don't have full match details on file - stretching back some 20 years.
I append the details I do have, and if anyone can add any more, please post here, or email me at catspar57@aol.com
In particular, I would appreciate data on the following -
Time of Staines substitution(s)
Time of all goals
Godalming team, subs, & captain (both games) with shirt no's if poss
Match officials' names
Attendances
Saturday, 26th July 2008 – Friendly (1pm)
GODALMING TOWN (0) 0 STAINES TOWN (1) 2
At Charterhouse School Grounds, Charterhouse, Godalming, Surrey, GU7 2DX
This match was brought forward from 3pm to 1pm as it was made part of a ‘double header’ with a Reserve fixture played afterwards. The games were played at Godalming’s training venue, the historic surrounds of Charterhouse School. Although STFC records reflect the original arrangements, the visitors in fact mixed their squad up somewhat, with recognised senior players spread across the two squads, although Godalming stuck to the arrangements, fielding their First Team at 1pm, and the Reserves at 3pm.
Dean Fenton scored a goal in each half to win the first game for Staines Town.
