This has come as a shock to me but I have just noticed in my second hand copy of last Sunday's Non League Paper that Gees neighbours and current tennants Godalming & Farncombe FC have had their record expunged from the Surrey Elite League Table.
It's so sad to see a fellow club and immediate neighbour fall into difficult times but the trouble is maybe too many clubs and not enough players to go around or too many boys sitting around on their bums tapping on their keyboards and looking at screens rather than the enjoyment of loosening their muscles and breathing in fresh air and kicking hell out of a leather ball.
I'm assuming now this will badly effect Gees finances as presumably they were booked in for the whole season.
I'm surprised nothing has been mentioned on here prior to my post. Perhaps someone can update and tell us more.
Edit: Looking around I've just found this:
2018-19: Godalming & Farncombe Athletic resigned in August 2018 after playing 1 game. Result expunged.
With that happening a considerable time ago now I'm astounded that nobody from within Gees inner sanctum didn't come on the Forum and post the sad news.

Shottermiller,
Yes a real shame.
I was involved Managing the then Farncombe Athletic FC Saturday (very successfully :-) Players deserved credit not me)side amongst other roles for this Club which used to have 2 Saturday, 2 Sunday and even a midweek side at one stage quite a few seasons prior to merging with the successful Godalming Athletic.
This then formed Godalming & Farncombe Athletic FC whom themselves were very successful especially 1st team as you mention getting into Surrey Elite League.
All is not lost on financial side as believe Guildford City both 1st team and Youth are at Godalming for rest of season.

Thanks for explaining the sad story.
I was a little confused because I knew that I'd seen somewhere G&F had posted a picture saying our new ground for the season and then later learning City were going to be based for some time.
Like I said it wasn't until I spotted that in the NLP and then did a bit of digging I found out the happenings which I must admit were a big shock. Maybe there was coverage in the Surrey Advertiser which I purchase very infrequently!
Even though the clubs weren't connected I am surprised that there was never any mention of the sad demise on here. One never likes to see that happen to a rival club as you never know when it could happen to your own club.
Yes, lucky that City were around but that's what neighbours are for.
