It was great to see so many Gees fans at Farnham today. Lots of scarves, all ages. From my humble position on the sidelines, dodging the ever present and persistent wasp, I can only see positive signs ahead. A young team. It needs time to gel. Our manager walking around prior to kick off, thanking supporters for attending, was a nice touch, as was our Goalie making time to say thanks for attending. Big plus was our centre back, no 6, Cox. It stirred memories of myself in my heyday of playing in that position, with the same passion and management of the the young defence. Ok, I didn't reach the same level as these guys but to see an old school centre back was refreshing. I paused behind our goal on the way home and got to have a nice exchange with our keeper.....' The season doesn't start until October'...I'll take that as a positive....or as we should call it...Work in progress. We'll get there. COYGS

Good to see you there too Kev!
Whilst most sensible people would treat Bank Holiday Monday morning as a chance to consider the benefits of a spell in rehab, it was great to see so many loyal Gs turning out for the club. …I don’t include the players, as they haven’t had time to become loyal yet.
We lost, but that’s bound to happen more than not until our shuffled pack settles into a cohesive side.
It’ll come.
In the afternoon, I popped over to watch Hartley Wintney taking on Farnborough. It was good to see Nick Hutchings ripping up and down the touchline for HW and also to bump into Andy Hunt who, like most of us, is optimistic about Godalming’s squad this year, particularly as Les has had to start with a blank team sheet.
I know this sounds dumb, but directly comparing the two levels of football, at Step 3 they kick the ball harder.

Ok It was good to be back at Wey court yesterday. Nice vibe about the place. For me, the highlight of the game was the last 15 mins of the first half, when the Gees finally woke up and played some delightful football. Forgive me for not knowing players names but our number 7 was top drawer. He had their left back inside out, upside down, in his pocket, Magic. It was his cross that found Coxy who controlled the ball nicely before delivering a very well taken goal. Our number 4 was running the show, an old fashioned playmaker. In the second half our no.8 joined the party with some tasty challanges and an air of confidence began to show signs of what the team can achieve. Am not going to slate individuals, but some of them have to up their game to the same commitment as the players I've mentioned previously. Good support base. Good to see all ages. Good to see Pete Hirons buy me a pint!! Work in progress. COYGEES
