Les recently received a message from Darren following last Thursday's training session. Darren said that he felt it was time to hang his boots up having had a long and largely successful football career in non league. He was finding it tough not to be able to do the things that came so easy to him in previous years.
This must have been a tough and searching decision for Darren and I’d like to thank him for both his honesty and trying to help us out under difficult circumstances . We would like to wish him the best of luck in the future. Darren will continue in his role of managing the Ladies team and I sure we will see him around the club.

I've been watching the G's for thirty years and I could go on and on about what a great player and ambassador for the club Darren has been. But I won't. Because in all that time, and having seen all those players, in the words of Ms Turner. He was simply the best.
Thank you Darren.

Fair play, none of us are getting any younger.
Well ill played over the years, I and the boys have enjoyed watching you play for so long. Sure I’m not the only one but don’t think I’ve seen any better in non league football than when we had Darren playing wide in Underwood and Bakers team.
