I know that it is not normally done for pre-season friendlies but, given all the new players, it would be good to have a team sheet for this match. Or, if that is not possible, names and numbers on the whiteboard before kick-off.

Agreed, it would be nice to have names and numbers but with respect Jeffb surely that would defeat the manager's opportunity to play trialists under match conditions without their names being bandied about and the potential of attracting interest from other clubs and maybe losing the player(s). After all a trialist is not signed on for a club.
I do stand to be corrected but I think the team sheet for Woking at Fleet Town recently had either 7 or 9 names with A Trialist in their lineup.

Well my first game down at Wey Court this season, and have to say I throughly enjoyed it ! Well done Les and team, it was good to see Darren back playing with all the young lads , some very talented players , I found it very encouraging to see a team to never give up , sorry I don’t know many players yet but have to say Kenny at number 7 had a brilliant game , for the first time in a few seasons this team look very exciting !!!COME DOWN AND GIVE IT GO ! Could do with a bit of rain though.

A bit of positive feedback. Refreshing. Time to start repairing the cracks and putting this club back on the road to recovery. Will make as many midweek games as possible. Can we have some smiley faces at the ground this year!

Godalming 4 – 4 Met Police (U23s?)
This turned out to be an entertaining encounter after a slightly slow start from the Gs. It was called a Met Police Under 23 squad and there may well have been some U 23’ s involved. There seemed to be plenty of senior players involved too.
There was a brace of Sowdens (Nick and Joe) on show in the Gs squad, alongside Dom Hardisty who we saw for the first time this season and some more new faces including a promising newcomer called Darren Wheeler, who I don’t think we expected to see, but he played some good balls with that magic left foot. But from the look of him in the clubhouse after will probably have trouble walking tomorrow. Another first appearance for the Gs was from Jordan Bird who looked very impressive.
There were a couple of familiar faces in the visitor’s squad as well with the impressive George Frith in the midfield and Jack Mazzone at number 9. It brought back some memories of some great seasons past.
Things were not going Jack’s way in the first half as he managed to hit the post possibly twice and the crossbar. But after a shaky start the Gs attacking flair started to pay dividends and the mercurial Kenny scored with a close-range tap-in to open the scoring from a good ball from Darren put through Joe Sowden into the area where he delivered the ball perfectly for the Gs number 7.
Somehow it was the Gs 1- 0 up at halftime.
The second half was a much more even affair and although Jack Mazzone finally got his” eye in” and a hat trick at his favoured road end of the pitch. In the end after Mo our Number nine got his first goal for the Gs it ended 4-4 after Kenny got his second and celebrated with a tremendous acrobatic display.
It is always difficult to judge how good the squad really is during friendlies, but we have not chosen easy sides to play against and this is certainly the youngest Gs side that I have seen for years and there are all sorts of possibilities.
Looks exciting to me and Les and his team seem to have a good few more lads in mind for the start of the season. Jack Howard, a fan’s favourite from last season, has signed, so all good.
Exciting times at Wey Court.
