Just tried to send you an e.mail Ross but it was returned undeliverable so this is it on the "open market!"
Hi Ross
Just wondered as everything seems so static. Is the AGM imminent? Any managerial progress or is this waiting until after AGM? Other clubs have squads sorted; whoever and whenever is appointed will just be left with the dregs of who is left!
Not entirely my own thoughts because others think the same way but won't or can't speak up.
Cheers and thanks.
Dave
If Ross is away maybe someone in office can come up trumps. THANKS.

The club has announced the date of the AGM on both twitter and its Facebook page. Oddly I now can’t find these announcements and can’t remember the date. I know it’s July.

Thank you for that.
I didn't think I was going stupid and imagining I'd seen something earlier. I wonder why it's been deleted. There's been no invitation letter yet.
Time waits for no one and I would have thought the way things seem to be going speed should be of the essence.

Hey shottermiller I heard we are waiting until after the World Cup incase any of our future squad get injured whilst playing for England. I also heard Hendo was on a scouting mission , but that’s very hush hush at the mo. I think I saw Joe Hart around the town , looking for a new club 😩

Talking of scouting... I've mentioned the Chelsea Academy lad who, strangely, was rejected during the trials by the 'management of the day' at the start of last season and who now is off to America and the MLS. Well, I bumped into him last week, as he was making a quick trip home, and he told me that it was a pity things didn't work out for him at Godalming as when he had asked the Head Youth team Coaches at Chelsea for permission to try out, they had a meeting about the whole situation. Apparently, they decided that playing at our level was a great chance for their players to gain 'full-on' men's football experience and their plan was to work with Godalming and feed us with their squad.
BUT, he was rejected and that door is now firmly shut. ...Probably for the best. All that pace and skill on the pitch would make us feel dizzy and we would be taking turns with the Defibrillator.

What a pity Hendo you didn't bring the original story out earlier around the time when it happened and then to learn today of your follow up experience is certainly beyond belief.
I don't think words can really express thoughts and I think for once I'm could be lost for words but I'll try: what a chance was missed; a gold plated opportunity; a once in a lifetime chance offered and turned down. Who were the real idiots that spurned that offer? If you think about it it might possibly have been something to do with former Gees player Andy Ottley suggesting some academy players could possibly come to Gees for experience.
Someone needs to hang their head in shame. What an opportunity missed!
Maybe the Chelsea boys would have shown up the limitations of the managerial staff and made them look out of touch! Whatever it was it was one damned great balls up and look where it got Gees. One step away from the Elite or Intermediate League.
Let's move on and away from that and again I'll ask about the appointment of a new manager; lots of clubs are returning to pre-season training next week so what's happening? Has it ever been advertised; no football people that I am lucky enough to know have seen anything. Surely the decision isn't going to be delayed until the AGM. That would then give a new guy a week to get a squad together. Just show a bit of reality and give a new incumbent a level playing field to start on.
It should be noted that Mr. Hunt resigned over at Fleet Town a little while ago now.
It's so disappointing supporters were led to believe that with the new regime there was to be a degree of openness. Sadly this doesn't appear to want to happen. I can tell you there's an experienced guy out there that can't wait to return and be part of and help with the new club. I'm not sure whether he has offered his services yet but you certainly can't afford not to look a gift horse in the mouth.

Just to be clear, Dave. Everyone at the trials knew he was from Chelsea but no one knew that his signing might result in a stream of Academy players. He was rejected for being ‘too slight’.

Tommy Harmer and Ernie Taylor were only 5' 4" tall and they did all right.
Coming back to your point John surely that was something they could have used their "skills" and could have been worked on. There must have been undoubted skills there that would have more than compensated. Still water under the bridge now. Such Disappointment.
