Well it was much better than last week. Apart from the GK I thought we looked ok. Sorry to single a player out but he was an absolute liability! Few good goals from our boys, going to need a few more in the coming weeks please.

Few good goals from our boys, going to need a few more in the coming weeks please. I must have been at a different game to you. Whilst his performance may not have been his best, to single him out as the only one at fault is very harsh. First half we were shocking all round, losing pretty much every 50:50 challenge and poor/lack of marking on a corner gifted them a first goal. The second followed some good play but, after the referee played a good advantage on the half way line, not one of their players was challenged in the build up. Not sure on the third one but it looked like the keeper was off his line and was lobbed (although I am not entirely sure that the SCR player meant it). Second half was much better and, at 3-2, they got through our defence too easily which forced the keeper to make the foul for the penalty. The fifth goal, the keeper palmed away a corner and none of the 7 or 8 defenders in the area reacted to close down the player and allowed him pick his spot. Their sixth was another one on one after they had got through our central defence two easily again and they have two further one on ones that he saved well.

Well having watched the game, I have to agree with tg very disappointed with the first 3 goals . But a much better performance from the outfield players in second half. Not sure what all the fuss was about in the second half, but thought a red card might have been given for the challenge that put the young lad through the fence.

As I wasn't there I cannot comment on any players performance but I do feel that you shouldn't single out a player in that manner. You've got a young lad there that wants to play for Godalming and can only give of his best. Encouragement and coaching are the words. Keep going son!
OK I'm now going to be blasted for my past criticisms. Look back at my old postings and you will see my "have a go's" were at the 3 Hutton brothers, Jack Mazzone and Glenn Stanley amongst others not for playing performances but continually opening their mouths at the Referee; sadly something they never did learn to control costing the club so many suspensions.

Having watched the video I felt maybe the second goal Gees keeper might have been at fault. Other than that he made some useful contributions.
I don't like faulting Refs because I think they are only doing their best and without them there wouldn't be a game.
Thet say this one was doing his first game. It showed with some of his decisions. A Godalming player is tackled into the hoardings and nothing happens, he didn't know what to do. The same thing only in reverse happens and the Gees player gets booked with the jumped up biased "kid" doing the filming shouting for a red.
Not a bad video as they go but a pity it wasn't done from the half way line.

I think that is a fair assessment and agree that it looks like he may have misjudged the second goal and thought is was going wide.
The opposition player who barged the left back into the fence did eventually get a yellow card for it (after the three or four minute delay because of the nonsense going on from the other side of the fence) so the referee was consistent on that front.
One of the major differences between the teams was how many of the SCR players were smart enough to take advantage of the referee's inexperience to get decisions in their favour. I was talking to their photographer near the end of the game and he said that is something that those players do all the time.
