No Joint Managers on the Team Sheet. Could they be spying on Spelthorne Sports in readiness?

It was but not a great advert, as my mum used to say, a wins a win it helps bring the washing in. The referee was the most entertaining ignoring players getting scythed down accross the park but warning their goalkeeper for taking his time at Dead balls.
highlight was an exchange which went thus Godalming player kicks for goal, ball hits corner flag. Ref shouts at goalkeeper to hurry it up. Goalkeeper shouts back, it’s not me that F*****g it out there.
Things can only get better.

Giving Graham a well deserved break from match reporting duties.
Tuesday 5 December 2017, Cherry Red Records Premier Challenge Cup 3rd. Round. Godalming Town v Chessington & Hook United, Attendance 65.
Gs started brightly and Hakim Griffiths had a shot cleared off the line by a defender but, after seventeen minutes, a cross from the right found Chessington's Trey Masikini in splendid isolation at the far post and he headed comfortably beyond Dimi Kyriatzis. Gs continued to dominate territory and possession, playing some neat football but, apart from a Bobby Bennettt shot in the twenty- second minute that was well blocked by Chessington 'keper Bassie Oldham, didn't really come close to an equaliser. The second half was only two minutes old when Chessington scored an almost identical goal to their first. This time the cross came in from the left but, again, Trey Masikini was unchallenged as he headed past Dimi. But, from here onward and to their credit, Gs attacked insistently and in numbers. Their first goal came in the 66th. minute when substitute Benja Ogunseye turned quickly in the penalty area and finished well past Bassie Oldham. Just a few minutes later Gs were deservedly level. A cross from the right found Tom Biss unmarked at the far post and he finished competently past Oldham. The winner came in the 90th. minute when Lee Boon smashed a shot in off the underside of the crossbar after a couple of efforts had been blocked. Two Gs' debutants in this match - Dom Hardistry and Benja Ogunseye. This makes Gs just one short of fifty players this season. It probably won't be long until the half-century is reached ! Two yellow cards - Hakim Griffiths for dissent in the first half and Steve Betancourt for a late tackle in the second half. Gs - Kyriatzis,Lodge (Ogunseye - 47 mins.),Pound,Betancourt,Hardistry,Bongo (Cotton- HT),Boon,Griffiths,B Bennett, Webbe (Trowers - 90 mins.),Biss: Unused subs. - Salgado and Webb.
A deserved 3-2 victory and Gs into the quarter finals of the League Cup. A chance of silverware and Cup glory this season after all ?
As a veggie, unable to give a Bovril assessment ! However, tea good and strong 5/5 - maybe helped by having two tea bags in the cup ! Chips - good and a sizeable portion 4/5. Ketchup - difficult to accurately identify 1/5 - just.

Thanks for that report Jeff.
You managed to avoid the cliche of "a game of two halves"
Good to have someone else who is happy to do a report now and then. I think it is a good thing all round.
Thanks again.

Excellent stuff Jeff! I think it might be worth adding that the C&H coach was sent to the stands for abuse. Of course, what he actually did was climb over the barrier beside the dugout and continue to deliver his stream of extraordinary invective from six inches further away.- that'll teach him not to do it again.
I've never heard a referee called a 'slag' before.
PS. We were all wondering what is the point of extra time if the match has to be decided on the night and penalties are scheduled if the game is still unsettled. The concept of extra time was introduced to help prevent having to stage a replay, but that was not the case last night and all it would have done is knacker the players. Ninety minutes, then penalties please.

I think it was more of a 'shlaag' Hendo . . who knew that Chessington, or indeed Hook was so near to London East End
