Does anyone know the origin and meaning of all the symbols in the club badge? At the top, there appears to be a sheep with an erection, dragging down a struggling duck, whilst balancing on a Christmas pudding. Next down are three shields; presumably one representing the ancient Parish of God, one for the Borough of Al, and the last for the forgotten Kingdom of Ming. The lower section has a Plumbase instruction manual quality about it, displaying a field of red, black and green bars with a bathroom tap viewed from above.

Thanks for that! Extraordinary. Very muddled and confusing explanation from the Town Council. I wonder why we changed the original red rose to white? ...maybe it was to annoy Cranewife. Having taken such liberties with the town crest, I think we should have a competition to design a new badge for the club; something more modern, in keeping with our new beginning and very much our own. We could tell the local papers and throw it open to local schools and give a prize for the winner - maybe even have different age categories. Publicity, new fans, new merchandise .... Good idea or my usual inane bollocks?

Not a bad idea Hendo, but it might have to wait till after Xmas . Do you think an original back ground on the badge should be showing a dump.

Great call. A Phoenix rising from a festering pile of waste...

Or perhaps a badge based on the popular board game 'Snakes and Ladders'........ Our latin motto, based on the last few years of ups and downs, could be.......Non te faciam eum............'You Couldn't Make It Up'
