The club have been informed that we will be playing in the Southern League South West Division for the 2007/08 season.
I cannot find a final list of who will play in this league yet. However, it seems likely to include most of the following:
AFC Hayes * Abingdon United Andover Bracknell Town Bridgwater Town Burnham Didcot Town Farnborough Fleet Town Gosport Borough Hillingdon Borough New Milton Town ** Marlow Newport IOW Oxford City Paulton Rovers Slough Town Taunton Town Thatcham Town Uxbridge Winchester City Windsor & Eton

It beats being in the combined counties!!
The Southern League is going to have alot more travelling involved that will need 100% commitment from everyone associated with the club.
Its going to be tough but a league worth being in.

Congratulations hope you have a good season, Obviously better than the CCL also weaker than Ryman 1S the travelling is bad and so are a few of the grounds.
I am pleased for Roger who has worked so hard for you over the years.
Although Geestubbs must be disapointed because in his own words :-
"They do good burgers at Bedfont Green by the way"
Enjoy

Wow. Very unexpected. Does this mean Guildford will be in the CCL prem. next year then seeing as we're not going to be there. Derbys v Farnbourough and Fleet and a trip over seas. Excellent.

Welcome to the Southern League Div ! S&W. We have only been it one season and I guarantee that you'll enjoy it. The standard of football is higher than people give it credit for. With a few exceptions, the grounds are good and the clubs friendly (well most of them!. Look forward to meeting you all PS. Our website is at www.andover-fc.co.uk

Big guns? Well us of course! And others from last season are probably going to be Didcot, Marlow, Paulton Rovers, Thatcham and Taunton. The new teams are obviously an unknown but Farnborough on paper although they've lost alot of players but they come from two divisions higher. If you read Fleet Town's Forum, they think that they've just got to turn up and they'll walk it! And, of course, Godalming Town must be one to watch! We know Gosport Borough from our Wessex League days. Excellent ground and facilities and they've signed some good new players - could be dark horses as could Bridgewater Town who came up from the Western League.
No we haven't got anybody called Paul Anderson - not yet anyway! Who is he?

;D Welcome to the Southern, having just finished our first season in it I can tell you its great. Good football, good people, and well run. The standard is much better than you think and on paper the division is very strong. All of us at AFC wish you well and although I now live in Surrey I have not been to your ground. Look forward to seeing you all soon

Paul Anderson - ex-player of ours but arrived from you. He won a Wessex league title at Andover. Just wondered if he had returned to you...

Geestubbs,
Info from our PR man re Paul Anderson:
"Paul Anderson was at Andover in the KCB (Ex Manager & Chairman-probably over 5 years ago) days but never had a regular place. Basically he played when they were short - KCB operated with about 14 players - though he did have a spell at left back when Matt Bicknell suffered a bad injury. He has been at Godalming for 2-3 seasons ( he lived at Basingstoke when he played for Andover) but I gather missed a lot of last season through injury, I did not know he had left."
