Thought the guys did very well coming back from 2 down. Eversley were decent but a draw was a fair result (Lewis did extremely well with that penalty - the spot seemed miles away from the goal). I find it hard to believe that with the skill in the side we are near the bottom of this league.

Eversley and California 2 - 2 Godalming
This was a battle between the two teams propping up the League at present and so both sides were desperate for the three points on offer. In the end the home side had to thank their keeper for making three super saves that kept them in it.
For those who have been to E&C before I am sure they already know how to get there, but to the uninitiated amongst us, including yours truly, it was a bit of a trial. One or two signs along the way would have helped in the dark to steady the nerves when you weren’t sure if you could make it to the venue before a 7.30 kick-off. Some painkillers would also be good for the pain in the back after navigating the craters in the road. Suspension probably needs a check to.
All the Gs squad seemed to make it from the changing rooms to the pitch without getting lost which was a good start. Basically, the same line up, but without Ryan Villa, so Jordan Cavender was on the wing. Once on the pitch things went even better. The game started at a pace and with some ferocious tackling from both sides.
Darren had a shot from a free kick that went wide.
Then after 20 minutes the home side attacked down their right and swung a low cross in to the 6-yard box where it was met cleanly and hit home giving Adrian little chance in the Gs goal. Not what we wanted to see.
But we were playing well and developed some great attacks. Reece was looking lively.
Darren then tried one of his ridiculous long range lobs from near the half way line having spotted the home keeper well off his line. You need skill and vision to execute shots like that and we have seen Darren score with them in the past. This was the first super save made by the home keeper as he backpedalled faster than we thought he could to prevent the shot going over the line.
The Gs were pressing and Reece was cutting through their defence. He came in from the right and played the ball in to Matt Brown, but unfortunately his shot went wide.
Reece was again at the centre of the attack when he worked his way in from the right and hit a great left footed shot that was on its way inside the near post. We were right behind it when he hit it and were ready to celebrate when somehow the keeper got his hand to it and knocked the ball onto the post and away.
This was the Reece Weekes show. He was on fire and again worked himself into a good position before hitting another shot that brought great save number three from the home stopper.
Matt Brown got on to the end of a good through ball and found a shot, but it went wide.
So, it stayed 1-0 to the home side at half time.
Only minutes after the second half started E&C played a long ball out on their right behind the Gs defence and they got in a good shot which put them 2 -0 in front. Only the second shot on target that E&C had produced in the game and both scored. Not what we wanted to see at all. But the Gs were not done for.
Reece was now in the middle and after a great build-up of passing football he worked his way into the box and slipped the ball past the keeper at last to at least get one back for the Gs. No more than he deserved after a fine first half performance.
More attacks from the Gs, but try as they might they could not score. Until Darren worked his way into the box again and was brought down and the ref pointed to the spot. It was Reece who walked over and confidently picked up the ball. He took the penalty hitting it hard and low for his second of the game and equalising the score.
Jordan got in on the act but his shots also went wide.
The visitors could have won it at the end when the ball was played right across the front of the home team’s goal but no-one could get their foot to it for the winner.
Good performance from the whole team, particularly to come back from 2 down. Frustrating that they could have had at least three more, but for those saves.
