Almost every good player has left, we seem to be in free fall heading towards intermediate football, or extinction . We have conceded an average of 4 goals a game and yet we still do not look for a different keeper, and to be honest some players are not good enough ,come on it can’t happen much longer or Godalming Town will be gone!!! I have supported this club for 12 years am find it hard to watch when we fail so often, please sort something out before it’s too late . And by the way if people don’t look on here any longer ,think again this post has been seen over 100 times. ive Posted so I expect to criticised but if it helps to kick start the team then good !

Being a goalkeeper myself you cant single out the keeper, there seems to be problems all round.lost alot of players since first few games for some reason, and I notice some of them have gone back to playing intermediate football. The question is why.

I played in goal for many years as well, seen lots of mistakes this season, with no sign of improvement so it must be worth putting the feelers out to try out someone different, it’s very disappointing to she the club going down so fast .

Cheers Bally, nothing of any interest goes on Twitter, but over 400 people have looked on here since this went up. No point in having a club website if no one going to use it , I don’t use Facebook so that me done.

Losing players is always going to be an issue but singling out individuals does not help. Better positioning of creative players would help.

Going out of date, it's out of date now ,any game from now is a 6 pointer. Having to go on shitbook to get information about gtfc is sad, that's what's this forum is for. Still waiting about my answer about if the club pays for the forum. It all seems very very secretive to many people.

I believe that the old GTFC Facebook page could be viewed without the viewer being a Facebook member. Other clubs currently have this option - a click on " Not now " avoids the need to join. I choose not to be on Facebook. Could the GTFC page be amended to allow access to those not on Facebook ?

Godalming 1 – 5 Tooting Bec
I have said before how frustrating it can be watching the G’s this season.
They have given us some tremendous performances and particularly lately they seem to have very little in the way of good fortune on those marginal decisions that can influence games. From the League it looks like Tooting are doing pretty well. Despite their mid-table position they have played three less games than the top two so could well be in the mix for promotion.
In the first few minutes Jordan Knight had to be on his toes to block a shot with his legs, but the Gs were giving a good account of their selves.
After about 15 minutes Kenny got down the left wing before cutting in and at the edge of the penalty area, he hit an absolute peach of a shot that curled neatly into the top right-hand corner of the net. The Tooting keeper just watched it go past. There was no way he was going to get near it. Great result for Kenny. He marked the goal with a series of acrobatic somersaults down the pitch. I think Dave Fidler must have shown him how to do them.
However, minutes later Tooting were awarded a free kick (pretty soft in my mind), way out on their right wing, in front of the stand. They floated the ball to the far post, where it was easily headed home for an equaliser, with little resistance from the Gs defence. Very disappointing.
Then, with scores level, and the Gs pressing again Donte went through on goal with only the visiting keeper to beat, bearing down on him, well outside the area. The keeper blocked the shot then clearly handled the ball pulling it under him as he went to ground, while Donte went down.
For some unbelievable reason the ref just waived the play on! One of the worst refereeing blunders I have ever seen - even at this level, where we get used to seeing some pretty poor performances.
Had this correctly been penalised, it would have been a red card for the keeper, as the last man. Who knows how things would have turned out?
As it was, with everyone shouting in disbelief at the ref, Tooting broke quickly down their right and their winger delivered a low hard cross, in behind the Gs defence, which was running back to cover the threat, only to accidentally turn the ball into their own net, at the road end.
Gs had a chance when Kenny crossed the ball in and Donte delivered an overhead kick that had to be tipped over the bar.
Tooting number 4 got a yellow card for a late tackle.
The Gs hoodoo struck again as the half time break neared. Another ball in from the right was hit home from close range to make it 1-3 and if that wasn’t bad enough the Gs defence goes absent again almost immediately, as Tooting swing another high ball in to be headed home for their fourth goal, on the stroke of half time.
As the second half commenced Darren Wheeler came on for Saul Grant.
Gs mount a good attack down the left with Donte and the ball is squared into the edge of the 6-yard box, Kenny tries to shoot, but the shot is blocked and bounces out again, but Jack Cleeveley can only lift the ball over the bar. Ben Bauchop got a shot in, but did not really trouble the keeper.
In the end Tooting got a 5th goal to add to our misery. The one exciting part of the second half was that Pete Hirons thought it would give him a win on the golden goal. Sorry to burst his bubble, but that did not last long.
Generally the second half performance was not great, but all credit to the lads that they did not give up.
Jack Cleeveley came off to give Jordan Cavender the last fifteen minutes of the game.
There is no doubt that we have some really talented guys in the squad, we often seem to dominate play, but we have got to get the defensive strategy sorted to stop conceding at set pieces.
Gees Tooting Bec
attempts 7 14
on target 8 5
corners 7 3
fouls 20 (7 o/s) 14 (6 o/s)
poss 1 55 45
poss 2 51 49
yellows 1 2
Bovril status: Beefy relief from on pitch woes slightly seasoned with home fans tears. Sadly, the best bit of the afternoon for the Bovril boys!
