Good luck to the boys tonight, don’t look very good either end of the pitch at the moment but hoping for a 2-1 victory. Really will look like a depressing season ahead if we fail to get anything from the game.

Oh dear! 18 goals conceded in 4 games, not a lot to be said really, speaks for itself.

I'm glad you said that TG.
The Intermediate League does seem to be rearing it's head I'm afraid.

I’ve supported the Gees for over 12 years now and it hurts to see the club in this state . There are players that are just not good enough at this level, so why not invite Godalming sixth formers to an open training night , or Broadwater school , we need local players to built the club otherwise I think the future could look bleak! Just as a matter of interest tg was Liam available last night. I don’t expect any answers, but it would be nice to hear from Les.

Interesting that you should comment about local boys being given a chance etc. Shot Stopper.
It's just been mentioned to me from two sources that they had heard that the Gees Academy no longer exists. If this is true what a backwards step.
Presumably the Youth team are still being given a chance in their league.
Perhaps a club update or statement could be forthcoming!

Just as a matter of interest tg was Liam available last night. I don’t expect any answers, but it would be nice to hear from Les. Liam was available but not selected for the squad, to be honest I’d rather he went elsewhere to get match time, that’s what a lad his age needs, he’s keen to stay though. Sitting on the bench (if that!) and only coming on if someone gets injured is wasting everyone’s time. He’s off to uni in 4 weeks, at the start of the season though he would have been available for at least 17 of the 42 games which would be a lot more than some of the guys that pick and choose which ones to play but still get put straight back in. so will hopefully get a team up there to play for and gain experience? I feel sorry for Dom too, another local there every week and put in and out depending on who bothers to turn up, can’t see the goals conceded improving without a consistent defence. I’ve seen better players at Milford, Broadwater and Holloway hill than some of the ones wearing yellow at the moment. Maybe one of the coaching team should be scouting other local teams? I heard some whispers from a supporter Saturday that Ollie Stevens might be off soon, I really hope not as we’d be struggling both ends than.

I thought Liam and Dom gave a good account of themselves against met police, we’ve conceded 18 goals so far it must be time to make a few changes.

It doesn't make sense cobbler. A lad wanting to play for his local club, doesn't get selected and they travel with just 3 subs.
No doubt some feeble crap excuse will eventually surface from within; if we're lucky!
So much was hoped for; you can't say promised with this new regime but all we've got is a great disappointment. It's just heading the same unfortunate way as the Andy Hunt time in charge.
I might not get there but I'm following all the time and I am a paid up member.
The rot set in when the members of Godalming Town FC were denied the chance of having the selected manager Craig Davis in charge. What a chance was missed; you only have to look at his record at Winchester City since that time. The guy had really set his heart on coming to Wey Court and had a loyal band of players coming as well. Just think; you cannot guarantee success but Gees could now have been back to the good old days of B&U rather than rock bottom. I'll never forget that.
