They've shipped lots of goals; maybe Gees can add to that tally Gees 6 - Bagshot 2

Godalming 2 – 0 Bagshot
On a cold afternoon the G’s chalked up their second win in a row and their third this season against Bagshot, including one in the cup.
With Woking not having a game a considerable number of their supporters decided to visit Wey Court and they were most welcome. It is some time since we have had a crowd of well over 100 to make themselves heard on a cold day.
Once again there were a number of changes to the squad with new faces and names on the squad sheet.
The G’s were without the impressive Ashley Wright, Jordan Bird, Craig Adu-Adjay and Joe Lewis who seemed to be forming a good partnership alongside Curtis Osano. Richard Acheampong, who has been so impressive in recent games, has it seems signed for the Cypriot team that he was trialling for, so we wish him well. If he ever decides to return he will be welcome at Wey Court.
On the good side we saw the fans favourite Jack Howard was passed fit again and the return of Bryan Botamba who made a couple of appearances earlier in the season, if I am correct. A welcome to Jack Heard was a newcomer at number 8.
Reegan Scotcher was named at right back with Bryan Botamba and captain Curtis Osano the centre backs and Dom Hardisty at left back in front of Jordan Knight.
Jack Howard and Jack Heard in front of the back four Ollie Stevens upfront with Jack Cleeveley with Darren Wheeler and Chris Burke as the wide players.
On the bench Taylor Davies, Charlie Chennell, and Matt Kerbey as well as further newcomers Kay Bradley and Cedric Oula. Also really good to see Liam Gadd, as a local lad, warming up with guys
It was a fairly slow start for the home side playing towards the road end and they had to absorb some pressure from the visitors, but then on 30 minutes Ollie Stevens was put through with a good ball on the edge of the area and he hit a cracking shot first time that the visiting keeper could do nothing about to put the G’s 1-0 up.
This seemed to inspire the home side and they started to put together some good approach play and apply some pressure themselves with Jack Cleeveley and Chris Burke both having attempts turned around for corners.
With twenty-four minute gone of the second half the G’s won a corner on their right, which was delivered beautifully with that cultured left foot of Darren Wheeler and Ollie Stevens rose like a salmon to head it home from the edge of the 6-yard box for his second of the game.
The G’s seemed to be enjoying it now and mounted more attacks with Reegan Scotcher and Chris Burke getting in on the action.
Ollie Steven had a powerful drive from range that just cleared the bar.
Only moments later he was through one on one with the keeper when he was brought down by the visiting keeper diving bravely at his feet to deny him his hat trick.
Although the visitors got behind the G’s defence on a couple of occasions, they were unable to cause too much to trouble Jordan Knight.
Another good performance for Les, his management team and the whole squad. If we can just keep hold of the players, we have we must surely get a few more wins this season.
Happy New Year to all at GTFC and particularly those who work so hard behind the scenes. Nice to see that the ref even commented upon the quality of the programme. Well done Giles on the hard work and photo’s and Hendo who has given us some cracking twenty yard screamers.

Bovril status: After a morning spent with wax strips and razors to achieve a perfectly smooth epilated torso, I returned from the match like an extra from Planet of the Apes. Living proof that Bovril this strong does indeed put hairs on your chest!
