fair enough it wasnt a pen but we are in the position we are in because of the way we have played all season. we can sugar coat it and say weve been unlucky, dodgy refs, injuries, but in fairness we havent been good enough. players and management must be big stand up and say we havent been good enough, we have let you all down

Dont agree. Yeah we have been poor at times this season, and the excuxes of blaming everything but ourselves is not the answer, but alot of those excuses are facts! We have not had the rub of the green all season with decisions from refs, or luck at both ends of the pitch! And injuries have killed us this season! Hard to remember when the management were able to pick the same side form game to game, and many of the players have been playing with injuries all season, of course having a massive downturn on performance!
We are the small club in this league and to compete this season we needed the majority to avoid injury and show the commitment like last season! Thi has not happened but most of the lads who have played this year ARE good enough and given a run in a side free from injury would fare so much better. Its been fine lines this year so we are not far away. How many games have been lost by the odd goal!!!
Its frustrating for everyone, but i dont think its right to write these players off as not good enough, are if we get the chance you will be proven wrong.

i also think that we have had poor luck this season with the injuries and some or most of the decisions given both for and against us. We cant just go and blame the players they put eveyting in each game and have just been unlucky

The majority of the players are fine. There has been one problem this season. Experience. We have not killed teams off or held out for long enough. We will stay up.

its not a question of the quality of players (although a few good signings wouldn't be a bad thing) or the players mentality, its just that we need to learn to take our chances and if the referee is awful then you just have to be careful. Experience is a factor as well, but if we stay up this season then i can see us becoming a fully established ryman league side. The club are ambitious and we have some very good young players and supporters.

Far be it for me to question fans on another club's messageboard but l couldn't let these comments go without putting forward an alternative view.
Get real lads, Mr. Bojanglez seems to be the only realist amongst you; the rub of the green, bad luck, inadequate referees, dodgy decisions, injuries etc, lets face it every team has had them in the league but few are blaming their position on it. You are second from bottom, you've won only 8 matches, lost 22 and you've given away 67 goals - you are seriously deluded if you think that situation is a product of all the excuses you've put forward in this thread.
The team and the manager are the key to success or failure, that much is obvious.
We've all been through the tough times and there is no doubt that this is probably the hardest step 4 league around but you need to be honest enough not to blame others and just improve next year.
I really hope you boys stay up, the club seems a decent one and all involved obviuosly work hard to make it so; it's a big step up to this level and at Fleet we had some difficulkt times before we adjusted, l wish you luck in doing the same
Oh and incidently, it was clearly a penalty, l was about 10 yards from it and it was a definite shirt tug; on the other hand the "back pass" which led to your free kick and goal was nothing of the sort but they were both perhaps bad [or good] refereeing decisions depending on your point of view but hey, that's football !!
Cheers

What is that Fleet Mug on about!
It never was a penalty! Never! I was yards from it! It was also not a back pass, that produced our goal, but the ref decided to give them an equally stupid free kick for a back pass after ours had been awarded to level it up, which they messed up, but i dont remember our penalty that we should have got, that would have earnt us a point! Therfore the ref has cost us a point!
The story of our season!

In many ways, strangely reassuring that Not Amused has resorted to personal insults and yet again repeated that whole tired thread of whinging that nothing is the fault of your football and your misfortune is the product of a dark conspiracy of officials and the hand of fate.
Hmmmm, perhaps his response just served to reinforce my earlier points far better than l could have done.
Oh and yes, if he insists on really taking the the Kevin the Teenager approach, it wasn't a back pass and it's so unfair .......

look, we all have different views. if your a Fleet fan then it was a penalty and not a backpass and if your Godalming fan it wasn't a penalty and was a back pass. fleet town fan was 10 yards from the penalty so he had a good view there but i dont see how he had a better view than me with the back pass of which i was 10 yards away and he was around 90 to 100 yards away. i think were good enough to be a ryman club and Mondays defeat was unlucky considering how well we played.

Two 1-0 robberies against Dover? Toothless route-one football? Taking it to the corner flag? Thats pathetic. You will have no chance in the playoff's (should you get there).
