Good to see the first 9 players on the club site. An excellent combination of 18/19 year olds with a couple of experienced heads. Just the job and hopefully leading to a good run ahead.

Jack Howard was training with the squad last night. Given the turnout last night we should be seeing more additions before too long.

So far as the youth team goes, I've not seen any familiar faces at training yet.

How long does a player have to be at Godalming to count as 'familiar'?

Ha ha. On the basis of the last couple of years, anyone who has played more than 10 minutes off the bench and/or bought a post-match Lucozade Sport from the bar.

I see we have signed 3 goalkeepers now, or has one since left?

Totally agree. Especially getting pat cox on board. A proven goalscorer at all clubs he's been.just what the club needs and has lacked for sometime now.should be a good season.

I see that the Sowden brothers seem to have left, both hard working players, i try to get down to as many games as possible but i fail to see what Pat Cox is playing in the back 4!with his goal scoring ability. We had a lot of promise against met police and Guildford. I don't think the answer is putting Pat back there,we need a couple of decent defenders. Any news on new signings please. What's happened to crainwife?

It certainly looks like the sowden brothers have left unless they've had family arrangements. This far in to the season you would of thought there would be a managers update or a club up date.

Well "Comeonugees" and "Cobblers72" it's no response, just the same as Seasons 2016/17 and 2017/18.
It's so damned disappointing it seemed that with a new regime at the helm things would be so different and open.
Strange goings on!
Yes, we've got the same old faces that would never say anything that might upset the heirachy in the club and that's the way it goes, on and on.
I'm sorry to harp on and go back to the past but lessons don't seem to be learned from when the club was almost ruined when the appointment of Craig Davies was renaged on. One only has to look where Winchester City are in their league now and to where Gees are; nearly in the depths of despair. One's only got to look on the Citizen's Forum to see how the manager comes on and converses after each game; what happens here is "SFA".
One can only live in hope!
It seems strange not having Crainewife around. Good luck to him wherever or whatever he gets involved in.
We had our annoying differences but that was all. It certainly wasn't me that put the boot in.

Very strange .I agree with a new start it would be different but obviously not.surely it wouldn't take 5 mins to update it's followers what is going on with the club. A monthly or weekley managers update isn't 2 much to ask.PLEASE.

To All,
Les was faced with a task of building a team from scratch again.
There are still players joining and it is inevitable that some will leave.
He has also been busy setting up an Academy within a month which takes some doing and training Youth team.
I am sure when things start to settle down he will update everyone.

I'll caveat the following by saying that this is me as a fan speaking and not as vice chairman and as such I can be safely dismissed as one of "the same old faces that would never say anything that might upset the hierarchy in the club". I could discuss why I find that put-down to be a little trite and a tad dismissive until the cows come home but what I will say is that I spend a fair amount of time at Wey Court and regard several of the people there as friends, and several more as people I like, respect and have a lot of time for so it should be a no-brainer that I'm unlikely to come on to a public facing forum to criticise them. When/if I disagree with someone about something I'll do it face to face and I'm unlikely to hold someone else's jacket for them while they take a pop.
Comeonugees, genuinely not sure which new players you're referring to. I may well have missed something. As far as I can remember Les has given a couple of the Academy lads a run-out, Ashley Wright and Levi Crew have joined us. Kamal McEwan has played for a few games but I think has gone elsewhere and Bruce McPhail turned out at Wick but has subsequently retired.
Cobblers, Les provides an update for the programme whenever I ask for one. The programme is supposed to go up on the website ASAP after match-day. If it doesn't, it's entirely my fault. Sometimes it's because I'm busy, and more usually because I have a life outside of GTFC which means that sometimes I forget to do things like sending Kev the appropriate pdf. I've had quite a busy week this week but trust me when I say that there are several people at the club who put in a far greater shift than I ever do, week in week out and they absolutely do not deserve to be dismissed as doing 'SFA' because they don't happen to come onto the forum. I'll see whether we can simply cut and paste the manager's notes from the programme onto the forum if that makes life easier. I will also try to make sure Kev gets the digital programmes from me as soon as possible so that they can be accessed from the website.
Not really sure what you mean by "strange goings on" Shotts, although I do sometimes suspect the clubhouse is haunted, but feel free to elaborate. From where I'm standing it's a few people working their hindquarters off in an effort to get the club back to where we, and I'm sure you all, would like us to be. There's no conspiracy of silence, no hidden agenda, just a lot of things to do and not enough hours in the day. As such some things that perhaps should be done sometimes don't get done.
Comeonugees. Nick and Joe Sowden have indeed departed and Pat played one and a half games in the back four because we needed an older head there due to Jordon Bird's enforced absence because of his job and Curtis' injury. Not ideal but we've had eight players out in recent weeks, (seven through injury) and hopefully will see one or two of them back within the next few games.

Thank you onefinfarncombe and Giles for coming on and explaining the situations. Much appreciated. I/we accept you all have other things to do but it shouldn't need a few digs and prompts before anything happens.
In reality it's probably down to our frustration and it would only take a couple of minutes every now and again just to post a couple of lines give a little update on happenings.
All points covered but interestingly not the bit about Davo. I guess that's still a very big sore point and it needs to be!
Still COYG's, get out of the rut today and put scores on the board, make it a 3 pointer.
