For those who still look on here ,Credit where credit is due, best performance of the season for me . Darren 20 yd strike with the outside of his left foot was fantastic, like the spectators the keeper could only watch the wizard at work . The new keeper Jordon Beeney was in total command of his 18 yd box, and top off his afternoon with a top class save ,long may it continue. A good all round team performance , it’s a shame Jack felt the need to get a booking late on . COYGees

Was a good all round performance, Darren embarrassed them so many times with his play, was good to see. Kenny looked lively and good to see bodies getting in the box.
Like you said Shot stopper shame about the booking, a bigger shame was he actually completed 2 passes to a Godalming player in the first half which I think is his best tally in a yellow shirt, unfortunately not good enough to be playing here and holding the team back from improving.
Nice to to see Charlie get decent minutes, thought he fitted in very well.

Godalming 4 – 2 Ash United
So far this season we have been on the wrong end of too many 4-2 results, so, what a relief to pick up another win and three points, which lifted the Gs off the bottom of the League, for now at least. A couple more wins and we could be comfortably placed in the middle of the League.
It was a beautiful afternoon and the pitch was looking splendid having recently been lovingly mown, rolled and re-lined by Pete Ballam, following the recent rains that prevented a game last week.
Even without the outstanding attacking threat from Francis Sey (injured) and Ryan Villa the Gs had too much skill up front for the visitors. Also the impressive Jordan Cavender on the bench along with Charlie Chennel, Saul Grant and Elijah Carter.
No Jordan Knight between the posts for the Gs today. Instead a different Jordan, Jordan Beeney he seems to come with a considerable pedigree and probably another foot in height and less hair. He made a great debut looking confident, talking to the guys in front of him, doing everything he had to, including a couple of saves, but in truth it was the visiting keeper who was by far the busiest throughout the game.
It was a game where we saw Darren Wheeler produce a bagful of tricks that we have not seen from him, in that quantity, for a few years. He was so influential I wondered if he had been back on the Sanatogen. But he said afterwards that it was the result of having had no game last week and that had re-energised him.
On top of that Kenny Kassibante was tearing apart the visiting defence with his pace, footwork and determination. About 15 minutes in he wove his way through the Ash defence on the right flank and then cut inside and hit a left footed shot low and hard that found the net to the keepers left. No somersaults though this time. I shall have to have a word with him about that.
Minutes later Donte worked his way down the right and hit a good shot that went right across the face of the goal.
We saw George Peterkin, recovering from long term injury, make a first start for the Gs and he lasted around 20minutes, before coming off looking like he might have been suffering. Charlie Chennel came on to replace him at right back. We are lucky to have so many talented versatile youngsters in the squad.
Unfortunately minutes later there was a mix up in the Gs defence in the middle of the pitch in their own half giving an opportunity for Ash to equalise, which they did.
Donte has looked more fired up to me in the last couple of games and also was terrorising the Ash defenders. He latched onto a ball through the middle, which he then despatched well after avoiding a couple of defenders to restore the lead for the Gs. He and Kenny are both very young, but getting more confidence switching around with Darren
Talking about talented youngsters Raisin Francis had yet another outstanding performance getting forward when he could and linking with Darren well.
It was a welcome return for Rory Sellick partnering Reegan Scotcher as the centre backs. Rory is now looked upon as a more experienced player at the grand age of 21 and having been involved with the Gs over several seasons since he first appeared as a whippersnapper.
Ben Bauchop and Richie Mbele clocked up some miles chasing and joining in the attacks where possible.
So, for a change 2 -1 up at half time for the Gs.
Kenny was continuing to attack down the right and he got past his marker before delivering a great ball into the middle to where Darren was screaming for the ball. Darren was able to hit the ball with the outside of his left foot across the goal and curling into the top far corner leaving the visiting keeper stationary. Fortunately, I was right behind the goal as it was scored. Another great example of Darren’s skill that we have been fortunate to enjoy over the years.
Gs 3-1 up. Plenty more opportunities made for the Gs, but they could not put them all away.
Having seemed reasonably safe, the Gs then conceded from a high cross from the left that the Gs defence could not handle, and Ash pulled a goal back, having looked like they were out for the count.
The Gs still mounted more attacks and Jack Cleeveley had a good chance inside the area, which he could not get hold of properly and dragged his shot wide of the goal.
Donte then produced some more magic when he battled his way through the Ash defence with some stunning footwork into the area, before curling a great shot beyond the keeper and seeing the ball nestle inside the far post. That restored the Gs 2 goal margin at 4-2.
Kenny had more to do, and again got into the area and the visiting keeper made a good block with his legs as he went to ground.
Ash produced a rare attack on their left that the Gs new keeper had to be on his toes for to touch the ball over the bar.
Saul Grant came on to replace Jack Cleeveley shortly after he was booked. With a few minutes left to play.
Great to see the lads get a good reception from the home crowd as they left the pitch. Well earned.

Bovril status: Rumbled! My years of undercover Bovril tasting at the Gees have been rumbled by head Bovrilista Kevin. He knew these beverages were coming under public scrutiny so he made them extra smooth and delicious. Like an outed Michelin restaurant inspector, I feel I might be getting extra special treatment on the Bovril front. Next time I'll disguise Michael as a 10 year old football fan and get him to order the drinks...Not even Kevin will see through that ruse!

Thank you Greygraham - you've written an excellent report of the game. In all honesty your glowing comments does make one wish that perhaps I could come back and watch. You write about exciting youngsters, that's good - yes, the lifeblood of any club.
Surely though if this be the case why can't the club promote themselves, tell the punters about the young talent that's on view and encourage them to come along.
It's no good putting "info" on a media that probably the majority of us can't access. For once why not try being sociable and acting with a bit of a response. Please use the Forum and the main club site so punters can read about the club, be open and stop putting your head in the sand.
Encourage punters, don't consistantly appear to treat them with contempt.
It was good that G/G welcomed the new keeper; I know it runs in his familly with his father Mark performing for several league clubs.

With Les departing, who knows? My guess is that first person through the turnstile wearing a jumper will be in goal, the committee will form the basis of the back four, midfield will just be Darren, and anyone who brought their boots playing upfront. It looks pretty strong team to me.
